What's New
We now carry Advantage Multi for Cats in addition to Advantage for Cats and Frontline Plus for Cats. Advantage Multi is an exciting new product from Bayer (it's been on the market for about a year in the United States, longer in Australia) that combines flea protection, ear mite protection, and heartworm protection in a single topical spot-on applicator. The product is applied monthly and is available in three dosing sizes (all are for cats nine weeks or older): cats under 5 lb, cats 5–9 lb, and cats 9–18 lb. [4/30/08]
Last November The Cat Clinic purchased an ultrasound, the GE LOGIQ Book XP. Dr. Miller has been steadily increasing her skill with this complex piece of equipment. Previously, ultrasounds were done once a week by board certified veterinarian Dr. Paul Davis. The Cat Clinic will still call on Dr. Davis for cardiac ultrasounds and second opinions, but the ability to perform ultrasounds whenever needed, instead of only on Wednesdays, will be of great benefit to our patients. We're hiring. We have one full-time opening for veterinary assistant and a full-time opening for an associate veterinarian. Please see our employment page for more details. [10/2/07]
Dr. Ellman-Murray has left The Cat Clinic to pursue new opportunities. We wish her all the best! We are currently interviewing veterinary candidates to fill the open position. If you would like to be considered, you can find more information here. [5/19/07]
Dr. Miller recently returned from the fall AAFP conference in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Miller was exceptionally busy at the conference, attending four days of sessions on pain management and the geriatric cat, participating in the AAFP board meeting as well as several committee meetings, organizing the Fellow's portion of the conference, and presenting two posters.
Her first poster, coauthored with Clinic employee Norma Velasco, received a certificate of merit. This poster presented a study conducted at The Cat Clinic on the prevalence of vesicourachal diverticula and their possible role in feline lower urinary tract disease.
Dr. Miller's second poster, presenting a novel surgical technique for helping cats with chronic sinus infections, was chosen as the best poster of the conference. The award for best poster was a new iStat blood machine. The iStat will allow us to expand the range of bloodwork we can conduct in-house, which will mean faster, more accurate results and better diagnostics for hospitalized patients. [11/9/06]
Better not tell Monster; the news might go to his head! The nice folks at Purr 'n' Fur have profiled the cats of The Cat Clinic: Monster, Jack, TipToe, and Momma Cat. You can read the article here. [9/19/06]
Our new associate, Dr. Ellman-Murray, was featured in the August 20 Norman Transcript. The two-page article profiles Dr. Ellman-Murray, her background working with feral cats, and includes a cute photograph of a cat named Murray that she and Dr. Miller repaired. The story can be found on page 1 of the Sunday business section or online here. [8/21/06]

The Cat Clinic is excited to announce that Dr. Sharon Ellman-Murray has joined us as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Murray comes from Tel Aviv, was educated in Slovakia, and currently lives in Stillwater but expects to move to Norman in the coming months. Dr. Murray has extensive experience in shelter medicine, having founded her own spay/neuter/rescue organization in Tel Aviv. She loves working with cats and is particularly interested in feline endocrinology. With Dr. Murray's arrival, The Cat Clinic will be able to offer our clients greater convenience with expanded hours for appointments and surgeries and fuller after-hours emergency coverage. CareCredit is a flexible, monthly payment plan that offers the following benefits:
-
Flexible financing options
-
Low monthly payments
-
No application fee
-
No prepayment penalties
For more information, please see the CareCredit Web site, or give us a call. [10/13/05]
The Cat Clinic is pleased to now carry Innova EVO and California Natural cat foods. Both are made by Natura Pet Products.
Both foods are high protein, limited ingredient, premium cat foods that are appropriate for cats and kittens. Because of their high protein content, your cat will need to eat less, so a 5-lb bag of either food will last longer than a 5-lb bag of a cheaper nonpremium food. Over the long term you will actually save money by feeding your cat a food like Innova EVO or California Natural!
Innova EVO contains no grains, which makes it a great choice for the many cats who have allergies to wheat or corn. California Natural is a limited-ingredient diet--chicken, rice, and vitamins--and is also appropriate for cats with wheat or corn allergies.
The importance of diet in maintaining feline health cannot be overstated, and we are excited to be able to offer two new (to us) premium foods to help you help your cat achieve the longest, healthiest life possible. [10/5/05]

A huge THANK YOU goes out to all of our clients who made The Cat Clinic a finalist in the Oklahoma Gazette's 2005 Best of OKC reader's choice awards!
Although we didn't win, we were honored to be one of three veterinary hospitals in the Oklahoma City area nominated in the category of Best Pet Services or Veterinarian. We were also the only veterinary hospital in Norman and the only feline practice to be nominated.
Thank you for thinking of us, and thank you for entrusting the care of your cats to us! [8/26/05]
